Day 1 – Tirana

Arrive, walk around the city and stay overnight in Tirana. Keep the first day light if you land late.

Day 2 – Vlorë

Drive or travel onwards to Vlorë. Explore the promenade and old town. Overnight in Vlorë. This is an easy transition from the capital to the coast.

Day 3 – Llogara and Dhërmi

Continue south via Llogara Pass. Stop at viewpoints only where safe, then continue to Dhërmi. The road is scenic but winding; allow more time than the map suggests. Stay in Dhërmi or Himarë.

Day 4 – Himarë

Spend the day at beaches and villages around Himarë. Choose a base rather than changing hotels every night. Overnight in Himarë.

Day 5 – Sarandë

Continue to Sarandë. Stop along the coast if time allows, but do not plan too many detours. Enjoy the waterfront in the evening and stay overnight.

Day 6 – Butrint or Ksamil

Choose the archaeological site of Butrint, the beaches at Ksamil, or both if the day allows. In peak season, parking and traffic can take time. Stay in Sarandë or Ksamil.

Day 7 – Return towards Tirana

The return journey is long. If flying that evening, you would need a very early start and a generous buffer; safer is to add a night in Tirana or Vlorë and make this an eight-day trip.

Practical setup

A rental car offers the most flexibility. Without one, use buses and transfers but plan fewer stops and check current departures. Book accommodation ahead for July and August.
